Bengaluru, Aug 4: Karnataka is aiming to take Bengaluru’s technology journey to the next level by transforming the city into a global hub for deep-tech innovation, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said at India Nano 2026.
Highlighting Bengaluru’s decades-long strength in science, technology and entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said the state wants to build an ecosystem where researchers, startups, industries and investors can work together to create future-ready solutions.
From artificial intelligence and semiconductors to nanotechnology and advanced manufacturing, Karnataka is focusing on emerging sectors that are expected to shape the next phase of global innovation.
Shivakumar said Bengaluru’s success as India’s technology capital provides a strong foundation for attracting global investments and nurturing homegrown companies working on breakthrough technologies.
The India Nano 2026 platform brought together scientists, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers to discuss how nanotechnology and other emerging fields can address challenges in areas such as healthcare, energy, electronics and sustainability.
Experts at the event highlighted the growing importance of deep-tech startups, research partnerships and industry collaboration in building a stronger innovation economy.
Karnataka’s renewed focus on deep technology comes at a time when countries worldwide are competing to develop advanced capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing and next-generation computing.
With Bengaluru’s talent pool, research institutions and startup ecosystem, the state government believes the city has the potential to emerge as a major global destination for deep-tech innovation and investment.
