June 22:  In a significant move to deepen industry-academia integration within India's rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystem, IIM Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Association of Diagnostics Manufacturers of India (ADMI) - the apex national body representing the country’s in vitro diagnostics (IVD) manufacturing sector. The agreement was formalised through a virtual signing ceremony by Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, and Mr. Jatin Mahajan, President of ADMI, who described the partnership as a forward-looking step that creates tangible value for students while contributing substantively to the growth of India's diagnostics manufacturing industry.

IIM Bodh Gaya Signs MoU with ADMI to Strengthen Academic and Industry Collaboration

The collaboration spans across curriculum development, leadership education, joint research, and direct career pathways for students. Industry leaders from ADMI will co-design and deliver specialised course modules for the MBA (Hospital & Healthcare management) programme, ensuring the curriculum remains contemporaneous with the diagnostics sector's evolving demands. ADMI member companies will offer Live Projects, Summer Internships, and Final Placements to MBA (HHM) students at IIM Bodh Gaya, while industry veterans from ADMI will anchor Leadership Lecture Series, bringing real-world insight into the classroom.

Beyond pedagogy, the collaboration envisages joint development of Management Development Programmes (MDPs), both long-term and short-term, targeted at upskilling mid-career and senior professionals within the diagnostics manufacturing ecosystem. On the knowledge dissemination front, both institutions will co-organise national and international seminars, conferences, and industry conclaves to address pressing challenges at the intersection of policy, technology, and healthcare management. The collaboration also encompasses a structured research agenda - including co-authored Research Papers, White Papers, Business Case Studies, and Consulting Projects, aimed at generating actionable insights for the sector.

Dr. Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of the MBA (HHM) programme at IIM Bodh Gaya, highlighted that this MoU will further strengthen the programme’s focus on providing exposure to the medical devices and diagnostic sector.

Launched in 2023, the two-year full-time MBA (HHM) at IIM Bodh Gaya is designed to produce industry-ready leaders across hospitals, public health, pharmaceuticals & consumer healthcare, medical devices, digital health, health insurance and healthcare consulting. Partnership with ADMI adds a critical new dimension through direct access to India's diagnostics manufacturing ecosystem, a segment that is increasingly central to the country's broader healthcare infrastructure ambitions.

For India's diagnostics sector, poised for significant expansion on the back of public health priorities and the push for domestic manufacturing, such alliances represent a strategic investment in the next generation of healthcare management talent.
