Aug 7: The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, India’s National Centre of Excellence for the AVGC-XR sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Graphiti Studios, one of India’s most established animation and immersive-media studios. The strategic industry–academia partnership will give IICT students direct exposure to live industry, professional production environments and real-world creative challenges.

Under the collaboration, Graphiti Studios will play an active role in shaping industry-relevant curricula and delivering project-based learning. Its creative and production leadership will conduct masterclasses and guest lectures, mentor students, facilitate internships and placement opportunities, and provide practical exposure to professional production pipelines. Students will also gain an understanding of the complete content lifecycle, from concept development and production to distribution, intellectual property creation and monetisation.
Dr. Vishwas Deoskar, CEO, IICT, said,
"Graphiti Studios brings together three decades of rich production expertise, a distinguished portfolio of original Indian intellectual properties and a proven ability to create content for audiences in India and across the world. This combination makes Graphiti an ideal strategic partner for IICT. The most effective way to learn animation, VFX, gaming or immersive media is by creating, not merely by studying. Through this partnership, our students will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real projects, solve genuine creative and production challenges, and graduate with meaningful industry experience. This is precisely the depth of industry immersion that IICT was established to deliver.”
Graphiti Studios is recognised for developing and producing acclaimed Indian content and original IPs, including Krish, Trish and Baltiboy – Bharat Hain Hum, the Netflix Original Deepa & Anoop, YOM and J Bole Toh Jadoo. Over more than three decades, the Mumbai-based studio has built extensive capabilities across animation, television, advertising, films, immersive technologies and IP development.
Munjal Shroff, Co-founder, Graphiti Studios, said,
"Content today does more than entertain, it shapes how a nation sees itself and how it is perceived by the world. As storytellers, we at Graphiti recognise the responsibility that comes with this influence. Through our partnership with IICT, we hope to nurture a new generation of skilled, imaginative and socially conscious storytellers who will create culturally rooted, globally compelling content, created in India and watched around the world.”
Graphiti’s experience in combining culturally rooted storytelling with contemporary production technologies and taking original Indian content to national and global audiences, will provide IICT students with a valuable bridge between academic learning and the commercial realities of the creative industries.
Established by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, with the Government of Maharashtra, FICCI and CII, IICT operates from the NFDC Complex on Pedder Road, Mumbai, while its permanent 10-acre campus is being developed at Film City, Goregaon.
